St. Thérèse of Lisieux

“The Little Flower” – A Life of Love, Humility & Faith

St. Theresa

St. Thérèse of Lisieux (1873–1897), born Marie Françoise-Thérèse Martin, was a French Carmelite nun and one of the most influential spiritual figures of modern times. Canonized in 1925 and declared a Doctor of the Church in 1997, her legacy is defined by her profound simplicity and the universal accessibility of her teachings.

The "Little Way" of Spiritual Childhood

St. Thérèse is best known for developing the "Little Way" — a path to holiness found not in grand acts, but in performing simple daily tasks with deep love and trust in God.

"You know my little way — the way of spiritual childhood, the way of trust and absolute surrender."

A Life of Deep Faith

Born into a devout family whose parents were later canonized, she entered the Carmelite convent at age 15. Though her life seemed ordinary, she grew spiritually through humility, self-giving, and constant love.

Legacy & Patronage

Thérèse died at only 24 from tuberculosis. Despite her short life, her autobiography, "Story of a Soul", became a worldwide spiritual classic. She promised:

"I will spend my heaven doing good on earth."

Roses represent her promise to send blessings to those who seek her intercession.
